Services

Three practice areas, one operator.

Most engagements start in one area and touch the other two. Treasury decisions carry risk. Risk frameworks need operating cadences. Operating models need someone who has actually run the numbers.

Treasury

Liquidity, funding, banking and FX for companies moving money across borders, currencies and asset classes.

  • Cash forecasting and liquidity planning across entities
  • Banking partner strategy and account rationalization
  • Credit facilities, funding diversification and lender negotiation
  • FX and interest rate hedging programs
  • Investment and safeguarding portfolio strategy
  • TMS selection, implementation and AI-driven automation
  • Stablecoin and digital asset treasury operating models

Risk Management

Enterprise and financial risk frameworks that satisfy boards, auditors and regulators without slowing the business down.

  • ERM frameworks, risk appetite, RCSAs and KRI programs
  • License and bank charter application readiness
  • SOX controls, segregation of duties and IPO readiness
  • Third-party and counterparty risk programs
  • Operational resilience and wind-down planning
  • Board and Risk Committee reporting

Strategy & Operations

Operating models, cadences and programs that let a finance function keep pace with a company scaling fast.

  • Fractional or interim treasurer and head of finance operations
  • Finance operating model design and quarterly cadences
  • Flow of funds design for new products and markets
  • Treasury and finance integration for acquisitions
  • Finance transformation and automation programs
  • Public-company readiness across treasury and finance ops

How we engage

Scoped to the problem, not the calendar.

Eight ways to work together. Most clients start with an independent assessment and move into one of the others once the roadmap is clear.

4 to 6 weeks

Independent Assessment

An outside review of treasury, risk or finance operations against what a CFO, auditor or regulator will expect, ending in a prioritized roadmap your team can execute with or without me.

Monthly, part time

Fractional Leadership

A part-time treasurer, head of risk or head of finance operations, owning the function on a set weekly cadence until you are ready to hire full time.

Full time, fixed term

Interim Coverage

Stepping into a vacant seat during a departure, a leave, a search or a transaction, so the function keeps running and the next hire inherits something orderly.

6 to 12 weeks

Process Improvement

Fixing a specific workflow that costs too much time or risk: cash positioning, reconciliation, payment approvals, bank account governance, month-end treasury close, reporting to the Board.

Defined scope

Project Delivery

A specific outcome with a start and an end: a bank charter risk program, a funding restructure, a TMS selection and build, an IPO controls uplift, a post-acquisition integration.

Ongoing retainer

Executive Advisory

Standing access for CFOs, boards and investors who want a second opinion on funding, liquidity, counterparty or regulatory decisions before they are made.

Half day to multi-week

Training & Education

In-house training for finance, treasury and risk teams: cash and liquidity management, FX and rate hedging, counterparty and third-party risk, SOX for treasury, digital asset treasury fundamentals.

Licensed or built to order

Tools & Templates

Forecasting models, policy and control libraries, Board reporting packs and AI-assisted treasury automation, delivered as working tools your team runs rather than slides they file away.

Consumer lending fintechBanking and funding diversification
The problemThe platform ran on one bank partner and one institutional funder. A disruption at either would have stopped origination, funding and payments at the same time.
What changedEvaluated more than ten institutions and onboarded two new banking partners, taking the stack from one relationship to three. Restructured funding from a single hedge fund to a multi-funder structure, reducing cost of funds by 175 basis points and removing single-counterparty risk.
Global payment processorRisk program for a bank charter application
The problemA state banking regulator required a complete, bank-grade risk management program before it would consider the company's limited-purpose bank charter.
What changedBuilt the program end to end: risk appetite framework, assessment methodology, policies and procedures, internal controls, third-party risk standards, business continuity and Board risk reporting, adapted for a non-deposit-taking structure. The charter was granted.
Cross-border stablecoin startupTreasury architecture and reconciliation
The problemFunds moved across three partners from on-ramp to conversion to off-ramp with no way to tie a customer transaction to its settlement legs, so P&L and partner margins could not be attributed.
What changedRedesigned the flow of funds with a unique transaction ID carried through every leg, enabling full reconciliation and transaction-level P&L attribution. Diversified the partner stack to remove single-provider dependency and wrote the product and engineering requirements for a custom treasury management system.

Prior to independent work: Global Treasurer and Head of Finance Operations at Remitly through its scaling from $500M to $1B in revenue, and Head of Global Treasury Operations at Kraken during its preparation for public markets.

How I work

Five things you can expect.

The same standards I held myself to as a treasurer reporting to a CFO and a Board.

Operator first, advisor second.

I have owned the cash, the hedges, the bank relationships and the audit findings. Recommendations come from having run the function, not from having studied it.

Every recommendation ties to a number.

Cost of funds, liquidity buffer, risk capital, audit findings. If a change cannot be measured in one of those, it is not a priority.

Built to run without me.

Playbooks, controls and cadences are handed to your team as the engagement ends. The goal is a function that stands on its own, not a dependency.

Written for the auditor and the regulator.

Everything is documented as if an external auditor, a bank examiner or a Board member will read it next, because at some point they will.

Startup speed, institutional standards.

Scoped in a week, weekly deliverables, no large-firm overhead. The rigor comes from J.P. Morgan and Amazon; the pace comes from Remitly and Kraken.
